Although rapeseeds contain only half as much lecithin as soybeans, rapeseed lecithin has grown tremendously popular over the past decade.

Interest in non-soy lecithin has grown because of GMO issues in soybeans and possible food allergic reactions.

There is often confusion between the use of the terms "rapeseed" and "canola". Rapeseed is the traditional name for the group of oilseed crops in the Brassicaceae family.

Generally, canola refers to the edible oil crop that is characterized by low erucic acid (less than 2 percent). "Natural rapeseed" refers to any rapeseed with a high content (min. 45 percent) of erucic acid in the oil.

The lecithin offered by Austrade Inc. is made from rapeseed oil of non-genetically engineered seeds of European origin.

Omega-3:
Rapeseed lecithin has a significant content in C18:3 ALA (alpha-linolenic acid), hence provides generous amounts of this essential omega-3 fat (up to 3.6%). ALA is said to benefit cardiovascular health.

Non-GMO Deoiled Sunflower Lecithin powder is a flavor neutral powder made by removing the oil from the liquid lecithin, resulting in a powder with high acetone-insoluble content (min. 95%) and excellent emulsifying properties.

Unlike most options on the marketplace, this pea protein is made from Indian yellow peas and processed with special enzymes resulting in a neutral, not bitter, tasting product.

Also known as D-Glucose Powder, Dextrose Monohydrate is a rice based sweetener which contains less than 0.5% water.

• A monosaccharide used as a sweetener and nutritional supplement in food and beverage production, pharmaceutical, animal feed and various other industries. With respect to food application, Dextrose Monohydrate creates a pronounced cooling effect in the mouth because of the high endothermic value in the heat of solution.

Rice Maltodextrin

Fructose (aka fruit sugar) is a sweetener that is found naturally in fresh fruits, vegetables and honey. It has a sweetness range of 130 to 180 compared to sucrose at 100, thus is the sweetest natural sugar around.

Crystalline fructose also provides a low Glycemic Index (GI). The glycemic index measures how quickly certain foods release carbohydrates into the bloodstream, which then raise consumers’ blood glucose levels. High GI foods cause blood sugar levels to rise more rapidly, and high blood sugar is known to be the defining feature of diabetes. Scientific evidence has increased to show low GI foods can help control weight and more certainly, help reduce the risk of diabetes and related conditions by raising blood sugar more steadily.
