Oryzatein® (oh-RAHYZ-uh-teen) is the first patented allergen-friendly protein source from the whole rice grain, available in 80% and 90% protein levels. Providing all essential amino acids, this product is being used in food grade products as both a replacement for and in conjunction with soy protein and whey protein. It can also be blended with Vegotein™ Pea Protein which has a complimentary amino acid profile to achieve a complete protein.

Sourced from exclusive crops across Asia, Oryzatein® Original is manufactured in a state-of-the-art facility which can double capacity year over year. Produced by means of an all-natural, proprietary process, patented Oryzatein is a coarse grade, beige (light to medium), free-flowing powder with an ideally bland to sweet taste. Oryzatein is a nutritionally beneficial source of plant-based protein along with essential minerals like iron, magnesium and phosphorous.

Brown Rice Protein

Oryza™ (oh-RAHYZ-uh) is an allergen-friendly, white crystal derived from the whole rice grain. This rice sugar is primarily composed of glucose (dextrose monohydrate), which is the body’s primary source of energy. Oryza has a perceived sweetness level of 120 giving it the perception that it is sweeter than raw sugar, thus a smaller quantity is needed. Oryza can naturally aid in the absorption of electrolytes in oral rehydration products including sports drinks, according to World Health Organization (WHO) research. At a Glycemic Index of 98, Oryza is the ideal choice for food products intended to supply an easily-digested and rapid source of energy such as those for athletes or endurance sports. Alternatively, the glycemic load of a product can be reduced and regulated with the addition of dietary protein, a natural blood sugar buffer.

The proprietary all natural, hydrolyzation process breaks down the starches, resulting in extremely versatile and relatively healthy sweetener.

Brown Rice Sugar

This pea protein has a neutral sensory experience on the market. This means that masking agents are no longer necessary in beverages and more. Boasting large commercial quantities and a guarantee to be free of soy and gluten, this pea protein line features an 80% protein concentration. It is produced through a natural process in the US, from North American grown yellow non-GMO peas.

Neutral Pea Protein

Available in multiple versions, this pea protein is produced from US and Canadian yellow non-GMO peas, using a natural chemical-free, water separation process. Different pea protein SKUs designed for different claims and budgets and include 80% vs 85% protein levels, it is available in one of the largest commercial supplies and delivers the most consistently enhanced sensory experience on the market.

As an excellent plant protein source, pea protein is rich both in iron and essential amino acids and especially high in Lysine and Arginine. It is being used as a replacement for and/or in conjunction with soy protein and whey protein in food grade products. It is also often blended with rice protein to complete the amino acid profile, as legumes and grains have complimentary amino acid levels.

In addition, it has a high level of functionality and can be utilized in a variety of foods and beverages where there is a need for protein enrichment.

Pea Protein

Axiom’s Incatein™ Sacha Inchi protein is a light tan-colored, 60% protein powder that is highly digestible with an excellent amino acid profile. This novel, natural protein has a fresh green, nut flavor, making it a great stand-alone protein powder for smoothies or the perfect ingredient for bars, desserts, beverages or baking. It can be included wherever protein and Omega-3s are called for. 

Sacha Inchi powder is composed of the de-fatted seed once it has been cold-pressed to produce Sacha Inchi oil. The dried powder amazingly contains one of the most nutritious proteins, which sets it apart.

Sacha Inchi Protein

Axiom Foods is rounding out the selection of functional, allergen-friendly, non-GMO plant proteins with three (3) Cucurbotein™ Pumpkin Protein (kyoo-CURB-oh-teen) options now available for sampling. The time for pumpkin seed protein has arrived as the bar has been raised on concentration levels, functional options and commercial supply.

Pepitas are cold-pressed to remove most of their oil content in order to increase shelf life and protein concentration. Similar to the nutrient dense seeds, Cucurbotein™ can be a good source of iron, zinc, copper, manganese, magnesium and potassium, and a rich source of protein dependent upon the serving  size used. It is rich in arginine, a conditionally essential amino acid which is needed by the body for a number of biological processes such as maintaining acid/base balance in the body, helping to excrete nitrogenous waste, making NO (nitric oxide) to support healthy heart and vascular function. Ideally blended with pea protein to achieve a complete protein claim, pumpkin protein also delivers a low level of heart-healthy unsaturated fatty acids.

Available with full certifications from field to manufacturer, three different pumpkin protein SKUs provide varying concentration and functionality options that fit different applications. 

At 55% concentration, our Raw Cucurbotein™ OR55 version is the most neutral pumpkin protein. 

The highest concentration at the most consistent supply worldwide, our Raw Cucurbotein™ OR65 version is also the highest concentration that is solvent-free, mechanically processed, and not China-sourced. Featuring a typical pumpkin taste and smell, plus higher viscosity per gram powder, OR65 has the greatest potential in protein powder beverage applications and bars.

Finally, the Toasted Cucurbotein™ OT59 has a different, more savory taste and smell, and a light brown color. Especially ideal for meat alternatives, it’s natural aroma would particularly benefit a faux chicken product.

Due to the increasing demand for multiple-benefit, clean label vegan protein sources, Cannatein® (CAN-uh-teen) hemp heart protein has been added to Axiom’s line of  powerful plant protein ingredients which are ideal for food, beverage and neutraceutical products.  Exclusive to Axiom Foods, Cannatein® provides the best tasting, lightest color, highly concentrated hemp protein free flowing powder, fractioned from just the hemp hearts.

Ideal for multiple applications and consumer demographics, seed-based Cannatein® hemp hearts protein is fractioned from a cannabis species testing under 20ppm THC. It is a suspendible and highly digestible protein superfood also rich in Fiber, Omegas 3, 6 and 9, B Vitamins (Thiamin, Niacin, Folate, B6),  Manganese, Magnesium, Iron, Phosphorus, Zinc, and Copper. Being so nutrient-dense, this one simple ingredient builds out an ideal nutrition label while keeping the ingredient list short. Hemp Heart Protein

Vegotein™ MA (VEJ-oh-teen), made from Yellow Peas, is an innovative pea protein meat analogue and extender boasting an 80% protein level. Featuring the soy-free and gluten-free guarantee*, it is shown to be the highest gel strength, water holding capacity and emulsion stability when tested against two other pea protein products. Due to the superior functionality combined with a slightly salty, umami flavor profile, Vegotein™ MA has a primary application for extruded meat analogue products but it can also be considered for multiple other applications.

Pea Protein Meat Analogue and Extender

Designed for beverages and other applications needing a lower viscosity and more suspendible plant protein, Vegotein HP80™ (VEJ-oh-teen) is the fourth in Axiom’s line of functional, 100% digestible pea proteins. This partially hydrolyzed 80% concentrated pea protein is even easier to mix and digest, thus particularly beneficial for sports formulations where the body doesn’t have to work as hard to break the protein down into individual amino acids. Vegotein HP80™ is similar to Axiom’s other pea protein options in that it has a light color, easily masked flavor, and smooth texture.

AvenOlait® (ah-VEEN-oh-ley) is nutritionally similar to whole, uncooked oats containing many of the same essential vitamins and minerals like folic acid, potassium, phosphorous, and magnesium. Whole Grain Oat Dairy Alternative

VegOstar™ (VEJ-oh-stahr) native pea starch is derived from non-GMO Canadian and U.S.-grown yellow peas, one of the most eco-friendly crops as they recycle atmospheric nitrogen and reduce dependence on chemical fertilizers. VegOstar offers a unique, allergen-friendly, cost-effective and clean label alternative to other native starches or most chemically-modified starches. A functional powerhouse that is virtually flavor-neutral and color-neutral, VegOstar is ideal for improving texture and tenderness in a variety of foods without compromising the organoleptic profile.

Made by a chemical-free mechanical process which separates the starch from the protein in yellow peas, VegOstar features approximately 84% starch purity, is higher in amylose than other native starches such as wheat and corn, and can replace some modified starches. At approximately 35% amylose content, native pea starch can form a gel in water at lower levels than other starches making it a superior choice for food products that require a slight elastic texture, including Asian style noodles or gummy confections. VegOstar shows excellent stability in high temperature cooking and under various pH levels.

Functionally, at 65% amylopectin content, this native pea starch can also serve as a thickening agent and can benefit the mouthfeel of beverages as well as the viscosity of sauces, gravies, pastes, doughs and batters. In addition, it works well with crispiness, and its water-holding capacity contributes to enhanced food stability and extended shelf life especially in aseptic processing. Starting with this initial VegOstar SKU, work is being done on creating additional pea starch SKUs and tailoring them for specific applications—mostly for flavor modifiers.
