Over the past few years, cousins, David Kirkham and Donald Wilcox, noticed that most common table rice had lost much of its flavor. So, they began looking for more flavorful varieties and higher quality of rice that could be offered to more consumers in their area. They began growing organic Carolina Gold and Charleston Gold rice. However, in order to take the rice from seed all the way to the table, they still needed a way to process it. Thus, Harvest Grain Mills was born. Just as farming was passed on to them, they want to be able to continue passing down farming traditions for generations to come. This is why Harvest Grain Mills values farming practices that are sustainable, conserve water, and preserve the habitat for local wildlife. Harvest Grain Mills produces both organic and conventional rice, but we are especially passionate about organically farmed and milled rice. It’s not only the natural way, but we think it simply tastes better too. We are proud to be Certified Organic Growers and run a fully Certified Organic Rice Mill.
