Freekeh is a process which means “to rub” in Arabic and was created nearly 2,000 years ago.

Organic Freekeh Bulgur is 100% whole grain, and is a quick-hydrating, U.S. #1 grade roasted green hard Durum wheat that is processed into bulgur and is used in a variety of nutritionally balanced food products. It is high in dietary fiber, protein, vitamins and minerals, and rich in probiotic properties, with low allergenic properties and low glycemic index.

Freekeh is manufactured under proprietary technology by mechanically harvesting, roasting, triple cleaning, parboiling, drying, cracking, and sifting to uniform particle sizes available in #1 Fine grind, #3 Coarse grind, and Whole Kernel. Freekeh Bulgur’s appearance is a greenish-tan roasted color and has a distinctive and pleasing smoky smell and earthy flavor.
